I’ve come to a frightening conclusion that I am the decisive element in the classroom. It’s my personal approach that creates the climate. It’s my daily mood that makes the weather. As a teacher, I possess a tremendous power to make a child’s life miserable or joyous. I can be a tool of torture or an instrument of inspiration. I can humiliate or heal. In all situations, it is my response that decides whether a crisis will be escalated or de-escalated and a child humanized or dehumanized.

Who am I?

I am a recently married, Nebraska Native, Second grade teacher with a wicked sense of humor and a sweet spot for real-talk. I love giving advice, my Schnauzer (Kyle) and thinking outside the box.

I teach at a very diverse inner city school, and I LOVE it! I have been teaching for six years (I spent one year in 4th)  and I can't imagine doing anything else, it truly is my passion.

The Idea

I felt "that drive" you hear so many talk about. The "pull" to do something larger than yourself. As I thought I began looking to unite teachers  around the world. The world of education can be overwhelming and lonely at times.

My goal is to unite educators through humor, real-talk and fun. I want my Megabytes to feel empowered and loved which is why I have created shirts, mugs and notebooks with quirky saying that unify us all.
